COTABATO CITY
Araw ng Kutabato - June 12 - 20 A 3-day cultural festival marks the celebration of Cotabato City's charter day. Among the featured events are: "Sanlahi Kalilang" (a dance parade contest), "Layang-layang" (kite) festival, drum and bugle corps contest, fluvial parade, sportsfest, civic-military parade, and a beauty pageant.
Sharif Kabunsuan Festival - December 15 - 19 Cotabato City commemorates the arrival of Shariff Kabunsuan an Arab missionary who spread Islam civilization in Mindanao. Special events include fluvial parade, banca race, street dancing parade, traditional gamesfest ethnic musical instrument competition, Qu'ran Reading Contest and Religious rites. | |
Tuna Festival - September 3 - 5
A festival that started in 1998 which sprung from teh spontaneous idea during the 30th City Charter Anniversary, to showcase gastronomical tuna cuisine through culinary competitions, exhibits, and such other visual and taste delight anchoring on the booty of the sea with emphasis on tuna as the central thematic relishment.
A "parada sa dagat" or street dancing, tuna resolution or float parade competition including the "HIGANTE and Dagat" competition during the culmination of the activities.
Kalilangan Festival - February 21 - 27
A celebration of the harmonious coexistence of the numerous cultural and religious communities in Gen. Santos City, the Kalilangan festivities include an agro-industrial trade fair, cultural shows, drum and bugle competition, "Pagana" culinary arts contest, "Kulintangan" ethnic musical instrument competition, and Kidig-Kidig sa Dalan" Streetdancing.

Hinugyaw Festival - January 3-10
"Hinugyaw" from a Hiligaynon term meaning "merrymaking" is a jovial colorful festival which tells the historical stream on how tribes from different parts of the Philippines has rolled in what Koronadal is now despite their diversity in culture.
The festival includes street dancing, sidewalk bargain shops, funfare and trade exhibits.

Talakudong Festival - September 18
"Talakudong" is a historical and cultural spectacle mostly performed as street dancing and rituals accompanied by exotic and native sounds of bamboo, drums, kulintang and gongs. It is a head-covering festival designed to blend the different Filipino cultures.
A rare spectacle featuring multi-fabric, multi-sized, multi-colored, multishaped and multi-ornamented head gears worn by street dancers, ritual performers, guests and everybody joining Talakudong.
Talakudong is a Maguindanaon term meaning head covering which was worn by early settlers, eventually the name was shortened to Tacurong.

Halad sa Sto. Niño (Midsayap) - 3rd Saturday of January
The Sto. Niño fiesta in Midsayap is noted for the sumptuous buffets served at the homes of townsfolk. Halad is characterized by streetdancing and a theater parade contest, carnival shows, and the traditional church visit.
Pak'kaat Kal'lo (Magpet) - Holy Week
The ethnic tribes of Cotabato converge in the town of Magpet for a harvest thanksgiving festival, a colorful counterpoint to the solemn Holy Week rites of the Christian community.
Cotabato Foundation Day - September 01
Special events that include Pista sa Suba, a trade fair, an agri-livestock market, People's Day, Pista sa Nayon, and Sagayan Festival are among the featured activities at the Foundation Day celebration of the province of Cotabato.

The annual celebration commemorating the foundation anniversary of South Cotabato.
A week long affair crammed with ethnic street dancing and mery-making, outdoor sports and concert, beauty pageant, skills competitions and agri trade fair.
Helebong Festival (Lake Sebu) 2nd Week of November
The traditional songs, dances, games, and rituals of the ethic T'boli tribe is showcased in the festival.
